What Is a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)?

An LPA lets you choose someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you ever lose the ability to do so.

There are two types of LPAs:

• Property & Financial Affairs LPA – for decisions about money, bills, or property
• Health & Welfare LPA – for decisions about your health, care and living arrangements

You don’t have to be elderly or unwell to have a Lasting Power of Attorney, many clients set these up while healthy, simply as good planning.
